I qualified as a Dietitian in 1991 and I spent the next 12 years working as a clinical dietitian in several hospitals in the UK where I gained experience in a wide variety of dietetics; I specialised in artificial nutrition (parenteral and enteral), obesity, sports nutrition and gastrointestinal disorders. Since 2002, I have been working as a research dietitian in both the private and public sectors looking specifically at military nutrition. During this time, I have undertaken a number of studies and written educational guides to improve the health and physical performance of military personnel.
I am a firm believer in the benefits of a healthy diet to optimise health and wellbeing. I recognise that we all have different nutritional requirements and that these requirements change at various times through our lives e.g. age, levels of activity and illness. I also understand the pressures and strains of daily life and how these can sometimes negatively impact on eating patterns and food choices! I will offer clear, practical and realistic advice based on lifestyles, to help achieve and maintain optimum health benefits through the appropriate nutrition.
